One of the first projects initiated by the Foundation of Goodness, in 1999, was a maternity clinic in association with the Medical Officer for Health (MOH), Hikkaduwa, since many of these ladies had to walk long distances to access such a clinic.

After the Tsunami, provision of medical care was a top priority. In 2005 a group of US volunteers, which included two paediatric specialists, Jugtha and Deepa, established the Rainbow Clinic. Located initially in the kitchen section of the Lahiru Villa the clinic provided for the wellbeing of the entire region.

Today the facility is one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in rural Sri Lanka, benefiting more than 25 villages and 1800 patients a month and located in a modern purpose built centre in the MCC Centre of Excellence, Seenigama.
