The event was icing on the cake to what has been a very successful year for the sporting youth of the Seenigama area.

Commenting on the Foundation of Goodness’ endeavour to use sport as an effective tool, founder/trustee Kushil Gunasekera had this to say. “The talent of our young people is clear to see and all it takes to unleash this talent is a little encouragement. Sport can overcome personal, social and mental barriers and promote discipline and strength of character. The crucial step for us now is to build life skills of young people who already give so much of their lives to their passion for sport. In this way sport can uplift rural youth to create strong leaders for tomorrow”.

“The spirit, the will to win, and the will to
excel
are the things that endure.
These qualities are
so much more important
than the events that occur.”

– Vince Lombardi
