Joe Hoad
Joe Hoad, West Indian Born but now domiciled in Adelaide-Australia,a qualified level 3 cricket coach and Psychologist arrived in Sri Lanka on 03 Nov and spent his whole stay until 18 Nov in Seenigama, coaching, assisting and lecturing the coaches and the poor rural kids in Seenigama and the adjoining villages.

Joe’s visit to Sri Lanka was made possible by the untiring efforts of Dr Michael Roberts another Sri Lankan living in Adelaide.
Joe, who’s father was the first West Indian Test Cricket Captain, had played first class cricket in the West Indies for a number of years and was also a top Table Tennis player being the National Champion of the Caribbean and the Americas for a period of 7 years during his hey day.

While overlooking the training of the Foundations junior, senior and Ladies cricket squads, Joe also did some Table Tennis coaching at Dharmasoka College-Ambalangoda and Karandeniya Central College-Karandeniya.
Joe was highly impressed with the overall standards of the cricketers especially the Ladies cricketers who came under his purview and predicted bright futures for some if they were willing to work hard towards a certain goal.

His psychological session with the cricket coaches from schools in and around seenigama was highly successful and came in for high praise from all who attended.
In Joe’s observation, FOG junior cricket coach – Gayan Harshapriya and Netball coach – Nadeeka have bright futures ahead of them and could become top quality coaches with more exposure and hard work.

Overoll Joe’s visit was highly successful as far as the Foundation of Goodness was concerned as many of the rural coaches and poor kids learnt a lot by listening to his lectures and following the latest techniques in coaching.
