Chaminda Vaas Opens Homes and Uplifts Spirits in Seenigama

Last weekend the number 2 ranked bowler in the world, Chaminda Vass came to
Seenigama to open new houses built by the Foundation of Goodness. The recipients
and villagers were elated to have the Sri Lankan cricket star come to the
village and see the wonderful progress we have made.
One of the new homes was gifted to Udara Chinthaka's family. Udara is a 13
year old boy who tragically lost both parents in the Tsunami. In addition he is
an only child.
Udara is now living with his Aunt and Uncle in a brand new home provided by
generous donors (Disaster Relief Fund New Zealand) to the Foundation of
Goodness. Due to his special situation the Foundation also provided Udara with a
top mountain bike to help him travel to school and around the area. Back in
February we also gave Udara some cricket equipment to foster his passion.
It was truly a wonderful event for the family to meet Chaminda Vaas in their
band new home! |
