SARAID Lends a Much Needed Hand - www.saraid.co.uk

The Foundation of Goodness would like to make special mention of the wonderful efforts of The Search and Rescue in Disasters (SARAID) team.

This group came into the Seenigama area almost immediately after the Tsunami hit, and helped the Foundation of Goodness to clear the village well. This was an incredible and timely gift to the villagers. The newly clean well was put into immediate use as a bathing spot where previously only contaminated water was available.

SARAID was also involved in cleaning the temple well, the Seenigama school well and a number of other household wells in the village.

To add to this already amazing gift, SARAID were kind enough to donate their entire equipment prior to leaving. This included a generator, and three pumping machines. Other items donated included loads of water purification/chlorine tablets.
