Shane Warne Visit a Massive Success

The Foundation of Goodness was enormously privileged to host a visit from Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan and other Sri Lankan cricketers on Wednesday 9 February.

Shane had flown from Australia to visit the Galle and Seenigama area and investigate what needed to be done. The Shane Warne Foundation is extremely eager to help out this area.

The visit was most special for the kids who lined the driveway of Kushil’s house to wait for their cricketing heroes. Every child was clapping and smiling as Shane and Murali greeted them individually. The entire compound was a hive of excitement as Shane distributed treats for the children and viewed the destroyed community centre and surrounds.

It was clear that Shane was deeply touched and affected by the sights in Galle and Seenigama. Shane is not only one of the world great wicket takers but his compassion and generosity were more than evident as he walked through the destroyed area.

We cannot express how grateful we are to Shane and his team for taking the time to visit people who admire him so much. We look forward to working with the Shane Warne Foundation in the future to improve the lives of all people in the area.
