Celebrating Our Young Graduates – 38th Children’s Graduation Ceremony

31st January 2025 was a truly special day at the Foundation of Goodness as 148 young students graduated from the Centre of Excellence in Seenigama. This inspiring group successfully completed their courses in Information Technology, Business Skills, and Language, marking a significant step in their educational journey.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as our young graduates gathered with their families, teachers, and mentors to celebrate their hard work and achievements. We were honoured to welcome volunteer Anne Ranasinghe as our Chief Guest, who shared words of wisdom and encouragement with the students. Also present was our volunteer, Lottie Carr, whose support has been invaluable in shaping their learning experience. A special mention must also go to our Founder, Kushil Gunasekera, whose vision and commitment have created these life-changing opportunities for children from rural communities.

The event was beautifully hosted by our talented graduates, Nathali and Osanda, along with our intern, Pathun, who guided the programme seamlessly. The young students made the ceremony even more memorable with vibrant dance and singing performances, celebrating their culture and talents with enthusiasm and joy.

This graduation was more than just a certificate ceremony; it was a celebration of each child’s growth, resilience, and determination. The students have worked tirelessly to complete their courses, gaining knowledge and skills that will help them build a brighter future. Their achievements serve as a reminder of the transformative power of education and the importance of providing opportunities for children in rural communities.

Alongside the graduation, the event also recognised students who successfully completed the First Aid Programme conducted by St. John Sri Lanka, equipping them with valuable life-saving skills. Additionally, we were delighted to present the Certificate of Compliance for Health and Safety at Work, ensuring that we continue to maintain a safe and supportive environment for our students.

To encourage a love for learning, we also recognised the best library users over the past six months, rewarding their dedication to reading and self-improvement.

As our young graduates step into the next chapter of their lives, we are confident that they will continue to learn, grow, and achieve great things. This milestone is just the beginning, and we are excited to see what the future holds for each of them.
