From Players to Coaches: Empowering a New Generation of Netball Champions

At the Foundation of Goodness, we believe in nurturing talent, building skills, and empowering individuals to give back to their communities. Our Netball Academy is a shining example of this philosophy, with a story that exemplifies the transformative power of sports education.

This week, we proudly celebrate six inspiring women who have transitioned from being players at our Netball Academy to becoming netball coaches in schools across the region. Trained under the expert guidance of our dedicated coach, Nadeeka Dilrukshi, these remarkable women are now shaping the future of netball in Sri Lanka, sharing their passion and expertise with the next generation of players.

Under the mentorship of Nadeeka Dilrukshi, these young women honed their abilities, learned the value of discipline and teamwork, and gained the confidence to excel.

Their transition from players to coaches reflects the Academy’s broader mission of empowering individuals to become changemakers in their communities. These women now serve as role models to their students, inspiring them to pursue their dreams both on and off the court.

Transforming Lives Through Sports

Sports have a unique ability to bridge divides and create opportunities. At the Foundation of Goodness, we have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that access to quality training and mentorship can have on young lives. With initiatives like the Sports Academy, we are helping to break the cycle of poverty, build self-esteem, and instil a sense of purpose in rural youth.

These six coaches are a testament to the far-reaching impact of this approach. Through their roles in schools, they are fostering a love for netball, encouraging physical fitness, and teaching life skills to hundreds of young girls.

A Brighter Future

As we celebrate this incredible achievement, we remain committed to supporting more young athletes and coaches in their journeys. The Foundation of Goodness is proud to play a role in creating a brighter, more equitable future for Sri Lanka through sports, education, and empowerment.
