A small opening ceremony was held on 27th December 2025 to mark the launch of the new Electrical Training Centre at the Centre of Excellence in Seenigama. The centre is designed to provide enhanced vocational training in electrical skills for youth from underserved communities.
Equipped with state-of-the-art tools and modern training equipment, the centre now offers an improved learning environment, enabling students to gain practical, hands-on experience and acquire stronger industry-relevant skills.
The initiative was originally envisioned and initiated by Elizabeth and Nicholas, together with the Nanani Foundation, to expand access to high-quality vocational education. Construction and full equipping of the centre were carried out by Virtusa (Private) Limited and Aurasa Gunasekera, on the premises of his childhood home, turning a place of personal history into a space of opportunity for future generations.
This new centre marks an important milestone in the Foundation’s efforts to empower rural youth through practical skills development and sustainable livelihoods.
