The greatest bridge we build is not of stone, but of hope, connecting lives once separated by circumstance.

At the Fondation of Goodness, We bridge the urban-rural divide with compassion, welcoming all, regardless of age, gender or circumstance.

In every smile we inspire, we bridge the gap between worlds.

Compassion drives us, and it’s through this relentless heart that we build a future where everyone has a chance to thrive, no matter where they come from.

We unlock opportunities, proving that talent knows no boundries.

Our mission goes beyond; we empower children, families, and communities to reach their full potential by addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality.

How can a tragic, unprecedented disaster be transformed into a blessing that uplifts humanity like never before?

Our Journey of hope and compassion

Kushil Gunaserka started by offering rural children and youth access to computers and English classes within his own home in Seenigama, recognizing the lasting impact these skills could provide. About the Founder's Journey

Kushil Gunasekera began a humble journey to uplift his ancestral village and along with the two adjoining villages through his compassionate, humane, loving kindness and generosity. Since then he has advanced to establish a reputable organization which provides humanitarian programmes with the emphasis on rural empowerment, reaching 1,000,000 beneficiaries over 25 years of service.

He has always met the challenges of adversity by turning it into productivity, whether it’s the tsunami, post conflict, the Covid-19 pandemic or the economic crisis, demonstrating how the work of the Foundation of Goodness hascontinues to grow and flourish during the toughest times. Kushil raised over USD 25 million towards humanitarian activities not by asking, but by showcasing what he does year after year with transparency and accountability at every step, surpassing donor expectations. The outcome of all this are the small steps taken to bridge the urban rural divide empowering countless rural kids, youth and women to make the grade across a wide range of productive activities including English and digital literacy.

Through the Foundation of Goodness, he has established a one of a kind holistic rural development model which now operates via its flagship venue the OYOB Centre of Excellence and Sports Academy in Seenigama incorporating a variety of activity sectors which operate like a mini-university.

The Foundation of Goodness delivers its programmes by way of 20 Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres located island-wide, an initiative in which rural skills are harnessed for development and poverty eradication. Kushil has now established a Good Life Institute under the umbrella of the Foundation of Goodness to leave a legacy for future generations and inculcate values, ethics and humaneness to experience greater happiness in the journey of life.

The Good Life institute helps you learn the lessons the classroom didn’t teach on how to live a life of reality, acquire inner wealth leading to gross individual happiness and peace, while also lifting up others around you. When you build a unique experience the word of mouth is powerful.
