Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centre Students Shine in Maliban’s “Hear Me” Children’s Day Speech Competition

We are thrilled to celebrate yet another inspiring achievement from our Village Heartbeat Empowerment (VHE) Centres. This year, our students excelled at the Maliban “Hear Me” Children’s Day Speech Competition 2025, held entirely online.

As part of World Children’s Day celebrations, Maliban launched the #HearMe initiative, inviting children across Sri Lanka to record and submit speeches on the theme “For a World of Goodness.” The competition was featured in the Daily Mirror on 1 October 2025, highlighting the importance of giving young voices a platform to share ideas, express kindness and inspire positive change in their communities.

We are immensely proud to announce that nine of the ten national winners are students from our Village Heartbeat Empowerment Centres, a remarkable achievement that highlights their creativity, confidence and communication skills.

Our VHE Winners in no particular order:

M. Diyana Himanshi, Udumulla VHE

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants and take immense pride in the eight students who have so wonderfully represented their centres and the values of the Foundation of Goodness.
