Smiles of Goodness : Dentice volunteers at Seenigama

The Foundation of Goodness was delighted to welcome two doctors and a team of dental students from Hong Kong to the Dental Clinic at our Centre of Excellence in Seenigama from 17 to 20 August 2026. Generously volunteering their time and expertise, they provided essential dental care and oral health guidance to nearly 290 participants from our rural community programmes.

The four-day programme provided participants with dental examinations and practical guidance on proper tooth-brushing and oral hygiene, alongside treatments including GIC fillings for decayed teeth, dental cleaning, removal of dental glue and fluoride applications. The team took great care to explain dental conditions and recommended treatments clearly, helping participants feel comfortable and informed throughout the process.

For many in the rural communities we serve, access to professional dental care and oral health awareness can make a meaningful difference to their long-term wellbeing. By generously sharing their knowledge and skills, the visiting team helped bring this essential care closer to the communities we work with, while encouraging healthier habits that can continue well beyond the programme.

We are sincerely grateful to the two doctors and dental students from Hong Kong for their generosity and commitment to volunteering. Their contribution brought valuable healthcare, greater awareness and, quite simply, many more reasons for the communities we serve to smile.
