On the 10th and 11th of July 2026, the first batch of students to enroll in courses at the Foundation of Goodness’ Computer Training Centre, Business Skills & Language Centre and Women’s Empowerment Unit graduated after successfully completing their courses having gained a plethora of new skills and abilities with which to create a brighter future for themselves and their families.
On the 10th was the 41st graduation ceremony of the Computer Training and Business Skills & Language Training centres, with a total of 261 graduates receiving their certificates. The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Priyantha Nawarathne and the Guest of Honour Mr. Ravindu Gimhana Nanayakkara who had himself graduated from our Photography Course.
During the ceremony, we also had the honour of felicitating the Under-19 Sri Sumangala College Cricket Team (who are nurtured by the Foundation of Goodness Sports Academy) for their outstanding achievement of winning the All-Island Division III Two-Day Cricket Tournament with a remarkable record of 16 consecutive outright victories.
On the 11th was the 37th Graduation Ceremony of the Women’s Empowerment Centre where 300 students received their certificates after completing a range of programmes and their hard work was also on display at the event with booths overflowing with food, baked goods, clothing, bags and toys created by our students and the beauty culture students staged their traditional bridal fashion show.
Dhanya Ratnavale was the Chief Guest at the event, representing Zonta Club 1 of Colombo who had sponsored some of the ladies through their courses and she was also joined by other members of the club while the Guest of Honour was a former graduate of our Cake, Pastry and Bakery Course, A.A.U. Sayurika Kumari.
The special celebration of women would not have been complete without taking the opportunity to felicitate and recognise the National Ladies Cricket Team representatives from Devapathiraja Girls’ College, Rathgama who are trained and mentored by the Foundation of Goodness.
The graduation ceremonies were a celebration of our students, while looking forward with hope to the journey that now lies before them. Our Chief Guests shared words of encouragement, advice, and best wishes while the Guests of Honour, being graduates of FoG themselves, shared their stories of success to inspire and motivate the new graduates, demonstrating that if they put their heart and mind to it, they too can make their dreams a reality.
We hope that everything they have learned at the Foundation of Goodness will help them get closer to their dreams and ambitions, while filling them with a sense of confidence, purpose and ambition, knowing that they have the support and resources needed to progress in life.
